In the wake of the 2005 hurricane season, Donnie Jarreau Companies, like many companies, saw a need for housing and support arise in the South Louisiana for those displaced by the storms. In response, we created our construction maintenance arm, DJC Maintenance. DJCM provided the on-site labor for the largest group site of trailers ever constructed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Over subsequent weeks of successful day-to-day operations involving almost 600 trailers and their residents, DJCM was providing on-site labor personnel for three additional sites located in Baton Rouge. We even developed a "Living Guide" to familiarize residents with the operations of their homes, to assure that those displaced by unfortunate events, need not feel out of place in their new surroundings.
DJCM's services include:
- Procurement of on-site administrative facilities, on-site transportation, parts inventory for trailer systems, and labor and management oversight.
- Preventative Monthly Inspections, or PMIs, which enable DJCM to easily identify routine and necessary repairs early, in order to increase the quality of the work product.
- Careful management of our own in-house developed process where repairs are passed fluidly up the repair chain and addressed accordingly. This process includes a manual that has become a trouble-shooting and quick reference guide for all of the technicians.
- Daily routine maintenance, including the servicing of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems along with general maintenance repairs, landscape management, road repairs, pest control, and fence maintenance.
- Staffing the on-site teams with CPR and First Aid certified members
- Personal visits to special needs residents to daily check on their welfare and follow up on any maintenance issues they may have.
