A Walker company paid just over $1 million this week for a 1.8-acre tract of undeveloped land on Walker South Road in Walker and plans to build a retail development that so far will include Hibbet Sports store.

Mitch and Mike Kimble, principals of Kimble Development of Walker LLC, will get started later this summer on a 16,000-square-foot retail center, according to Donnie Jarreau Companies agent Kent Walker who helped broker the deal. Walker said Hibbet Sports already has signed a lease for space at the center, and several other national and regional tenants are in lease negotiations.

Walker identified the seller as Alex Theriot Jr.
